Motorcyclist killed on 405 freeway in Irvine

IRVINE, Calif. (FOX 11) - A woman riding a motorcycle on the 405 freeway in Irvine was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Wednesday evening.

The crash was reported at about 6:15 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway just south of state Route 133.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, said the California Highway Patrol. Her identity has not been released.

Several traffic lanes were closed during the investigation.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
