Mother, toddler killed after car crash into Hesperia aqueduct
HESPERIA, Calif. (FOX 11) - A woman and a young boy were killed, a child injured, and another child believed to be still missing after a car crashed into an aqueduct in Hesperia Thursday night.
Authorities believe there was a third child in the car and they were continuing their search for the missing toddler in the water on Friday.
The accident happened shortly before 7 Thursday night when a car veered off the road, went through a guardrail and then landed in the aqueduct below.
Dive crews worked to rescue the passengers in the crash, first pulling an 8-year-old child from the water who was taken to a trauma center. A second child was found alive in the car and was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The woman driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The search for a possible fourth victim continued until about midnight Thursday before picking up again Friday morning.
