Mom donates kidney to son giving him second chance at life

(FOX 11) - A patient treated at Cedars-Sinai hospital has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season.

He gets a second chance at life -- all thanks to his mom.

Harley Brackney was snowboarding when he fell.

Doctors say a seizure caused his fall.

While treating him, they discovered he had 5th-stage kidney failure.

They say the best chance the 20-year-old had was a transplant.

Fortunately, Brackney's mom was a perfect match and gave him one of her kidneys and she did!

Brackney says he's recovering well.
