Man, woman killed in South L.A. neighborhood shooting

Investigators with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department were searching for the suspect who remained at large following a double fatal shooting in the Westmont neighborhood near South Los Angeles Thursday night. 

Homicide detectives responded to the 1600 block of West 105th Street near the intersection of Denker Avenue around 9:10 p.m. where they discovered two victims, a man and a woman, suffering from bullet wounds, said sheriff's officials. 

The male victim sustained injuries to his upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was shot multiple times in her upper body. She was rushed to a local hospital where she died. 

A description of the gunman was not available and the circumstances remained under investigation.
