Man shot while driving on 210 Freeway; LAPD seeking two suspects on motorcycles

A driver was shot in the left arm on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar early Thursday in an attack carried out by gunmen on two motorcycles, police said.

The shooting took place sometime between 4:15 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. on the Roxford Street on-ramp, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The motorist, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

"He noticed a couple of motorcycles following him; appeared to be close to his vehicle,'' Los Angeles police Lt. Kathleen Burns told news outlets. "Some point after that, shots rang out. The victim, as well as his vehicle, were
struck with the shots.''

The man was driving to work, she said, adding that the shooting did not appear to be a case of road rage.

The No. 3 lane of the westbound freeway was shut down at Roxford Street until about 6:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
