Man shot and killed following altercation outside Koreatown liquor store

An argument Wednesday night outside of a liquor store in Koreatown led to a man being shot and killed, police said.

A shooting was reported around 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Beverly Boulevard and St. Andrews Place. A male victim was shot in the street and ran into the nearby liquor store for help before collapsing, authorities said.

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Witnesses told investigators that the victim was outside when another man walked up to him and the two had an altercation. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male, then pulled out a gun and fired several shots before fleeing on foot.

There did not appear to be any gang affiliation, police said.

The victim's identity was not immediately released.
