Man claims self-defense in deadly shooting of his wife, daughter
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Police are conducting an investigation into the shooting of a woman and her teen daughter in southwest Houston. The woman's husband, who is also the father of the 15-year-old girl, told Houston police that he shot them because he was defending himself. Both the woman and girl have died.
The shooting was reported at around 2:45 a.m. Thursday at a home on Alkay Street near Anderson Road. When officers arrived, they found the body of the teen inside the home. The 44-year-old woman was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where she later died. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has not released the identities of the two shooting victims.
The 43-year-old husband and father told investigators that he was at home when his daughter and wife attempted to attack him with knives. No charges have been filed in the case as of Thursday afternoon, but the investigation is ongoing.
