Man arrested on suspicion of arson after fire destroys Westminster mobile home; 2 injured

WESTMINSTER, Calif. (FOX 11) - A man was arrested on suspicion of arson Saturday after a fire destroyed a mobile home in Westminster and left two people injured, authorities said.

Firefighters responded around 6:45 a.m. to a fire at a mobile home in the 9700 block of Bolsa Avenue. One person was rescued by fire crews, according to Orange County Fire Authority. A second person was also injured.

Both victims were transported to local burn centers. One person was listed in critical condition and the other in stable condition, police said.

Arson investigators responded to the scene.

A suspect, identified as Westminster resident Tony Nguyen, was later taken into custody on suspicion of arson in connection to the fire, Westminster police said.

Further details about the arrest were not immediately released.

More than one fire was reported Saturday morning in Westminster, officials said.

"The cause of this fire is under investigation. We haven't linked any fire together," Capt. Paul Holaday of the Orange County Fire Authority said. "What I can tell you is that the fire authorities responded to three fires this morning in the city of Westminster, and all three of those are under investigation."
