High-speed police chase across LA ends in crash on freeway off-ramp

A wild, high-speed police chase across Los Angeles ended near Dodger Stadium on Friday night, after the driver crashed into the side wall of an off-ramp on the 5 Freeway.

What we know:

Reports of the chase came in around 10:30 p.m. on the 101 Freeway. 

The driver shifted between side streets and freeways, leading officers through the San Fernando Valley, hitting speeds over 100mph. 

The driver eventually got on the 5 Freeway. Around 11 p.m., the driver tried to get off the freeway in Elysian Valley, before crashing into the side rail of the off-ramp.

Officers swarmed in, pulled the driver out of the car, and took them into custody.

What we don't know:

It wasn't immediately clear why the driver was wanted.
