Latest video by Midshipmen is tribute to the City of Annapolis

The Naval Academy midshipmen show-off the town of Annapolis in the latest video, "Naptown Funk," created by Midshipman First Class (senior) Rylan Tuohy, 22, of Greenville, Ky.

Midshipman Tuohy is the creator of several USNA Spirit Spots including "We Give a Ship," created for the Army-Navy game in 2014. Tuohy said he had the idea to remake the Uptown Funk video (by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars) last November, and after working closely with the City of Annapolis, he was able to film the video just last week.

The Naptown Funk video closely resembles the original, including scenes in a local barbershop, synchronized dance moves, and a city street; but the Naptown Funk video exclusively features current midshipmen as actors and dancers. The music and lyrics used in the video were also re-made by the midshipmen, using only parts of the original.

Over 50 midshipmen participated in the filming project.
