LA's Most Wanted: Walk-up shooting death of Tim James

Tim James was 44-years-old when he was murdered in a walk-up shooting on Feb. 29, 2012, just before midnight.

James was sitting with a friend at the bus stop on North Long Beach Boulevard outside the Compton Swap Meet. A car drove by the two men and then stopped.

One person got out of the car, walked over to James and asked him where he was from. A moment later, he shot and killed James.

There are four ways to help investigators identify and locate Tim James' killer:

Call Detectives Howard Cooper or Donna Cheek at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers can receive text messages containing the letters "TIPLA" sent to 274637.
