LA's Most Wanted: suspects in Kenneth Peevy's murder

Kenneth Peevy, known to his neighborhood friends as "KP" was murdered on 109th Street near Hobart Avenue as he made arrangements to meet a friend. Without warning, shots were fired at KP from a dark BMW that was driving toward him on West 109th Street at about 12:45 am on Friday, July 17, 2015.

Video from a security camera showed two men, out of the car and walking toward KP, firing the shots that killed him. There may have been as many as four African-American men, in their 20s, involved in the murder.

Kenneth Peevy is survived by his parents and siblings as well as three young children. Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau suspect that the killers were looking for any young, African-American young man to murder as part of on-going gang conflicts. More than any other factor, they believe Kennethy Peevy was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyone with information they can share with law enforcement is urged to call Detective Theo Baljet at (323) 890 5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Anonymous calls are welcomed at either number.
