LAPD searching for vehicle involved in fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in Echo Park
ECHO PARK, Calif. - The Los Angeles Police Department Thursday was investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in Echo Park.
Police received a call for service just before 5:30 a.m. regarding a pedestrian and vehicle collision at the cross street of Sunset Blvd. and Douglas Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located the 60-year-old male pedestrian fatally wounded in the middle of the intersection.
Police said the unidentified man lived in the area and was reportedly running to catch the bus to work.
Authorities were searching for a dark blue sedan, possibly a Honda or Hyundai, with dark tinted windows. The suspect vehicle is also likely to have some front end damage.
The cause of collision remained under investigation.
