LAPD investigating solo-vehicle crash involving one of their officers
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a crash involving an LA police command staff officer.
The LA Sheriff's Department says the crash happened in Carson on Jan. 24, 2019. A Sheriff's deputy on patrol found a black Dodge Charger abandoned just before 5 a.m. Friday. Authorities say it was evident the vehicle had been in a crash.
When it was discovered the Charger was an LAPD vehicle, the Sheriff's Department contacted LAPD. They say the officer involved in the crash was not injured and they do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident.
LAPD says the officer is now on administrative leave pending the outcome of their investigation.
