Kobe Bryant fan memorial around Staples Center to be dismantled Monday

Thousands of people have been laying down memorabilia, including posters, gifts, jerseys, basketballs, flowers, cards, and candles outside Staples Center over the past few days, to pay respect to NBA and Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.

Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed on January 26 when a helicopter carrying them crashed in Calabasas, California.

Officials announced their plans to start removing items on Monday since workers are contractually obligated to clear items for upcoming events.

Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa has requested that all memorabilia be sent to the family.
