Katie Hill, the US Representative-elect for California's 25th congressional district
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - On January 3, 2019, Katie Hill will official begin her career in Washington, D.C. The 31-year-old Congresswoman-elect campaigned on the fact that she was not a politician. She was able to defeat the Republican incumbent Steve Knight in the 25th congressional district.
Aside from being named one of two freshman caucus representatives to the Democratic party leadership, she's also been chosen as the first member of the freshman class to deliver the official Democratic Response to President Trump's weekly address.
Hill talked about the big challenge for Democratic leadership, which is dealing with the partial government shutdown and the border wall, since there are 800,000 federal workers that are not getting paid at the moment. Hill and FOX 11's Elex Michaelson talked about other political news as well.
