Jill Stein explains vote recount efforts currently underway

Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party's presidential candidate, has formally filed a motion for a recount of the presidential election in Wisconsin. She's also expected to file in Michigan and Pennsylvania due to what computer scientists are calling "voter irregularities".

Stein tells FOX 11 in Los Angeles, "I was asked many times during the campaign to stand up and call for a recount if there were doubt on the reliability or security of the vote, and I always said yes regardless of who was declared the winner. The American people deserve to have a voting system they can trust."

Stein has raised $6.2 million in just five days, which she says is a good indication of how much the American people are longing for and demanding a trustworthy system.

"We have a very small time window in which to get this done, and to get it done quickly. If the system worked, we will know it very soon. That will be extremely reassuring at a time when voter confidence in our government and basic social institutions is at a rock bottom low."

When Trump said it was a rigged election, and when Bernie Sanders said it was a rigged economy, both these statements had a lot of resonance with the every people who feel they are being locked out.

Stein says we should get rid of the hacker-friendly and tamper-friendly machines and need to build in automatic audits so we can have confidence in the election process.

The money that has been raised goes to a recount fund that will cover filing costs and attorney fees.
