Investigation underway after woman found dead, wrapped in blanket, in Bell
BELL (FOX 11) - At the corner of Pine and Bell avenues is Bell High School, a church and a preschool.
Down the street is where a woman described only as "over 50" was found dead Thursday morning.
Police were called at about 7:30 a.m. to the 6600 block of Pine Avenue by concerned family members to do a welfare check.
Inside was the family's worst fear, a woman wrapped inside a blanket, dead.
According to Lt. Mike Rossen, the situation has been deemed suspicious but doesn't mean the woman was murdered.
"We don't know if it's a random, home invasion," Rossen said. "At this point, it's too early to surmise anything. I've been to locations where somebody has died, somebody panics, they wrap them up and don't know what to do or they're scared somebody is going to be in trouble and they just leave the body."
The coroner's office is investigating.
