Hundreds of students in Los Feliz take part in 'Here's to Meghan' celebration

The royal wedding isn't until Saturday, but Megan Markle's high school has already started celebrating.

Immaculate Heart High school in Los Feliz is celebrating their soon to be royal alumna in a big way.

The all-girl, private Catholic school's students gathered for the "Here's to Meghan" celebration.

Senior Mia Speier helped organize it.

"Today is kind of a send off in her name. We wanted to have a day for the high school and middle school because she did attend both."

They raised cups and toasted to their famous former student who they believe uses her now global notoriety for good.

"I think she is an incredible female activist and she advocates for women. And we really need a lot of that right now," said student Bella Kim

Teachers here still remember her well.

"She was a wonderful student, very intelligent, very engaged," said Meghan's theology teacher Maria Pollia.

The rest of LA is honoring the soon to be princess too - at the TCL Chinese Theatre this morning british Consul General Michael Howells signed a giant wedding card that will be delivered to London. Fans got a chance to write their well wishes for the couple too.

A big screen broadcast of the royal wedding will be held Saturday at the Chinese Theatre.

Immaculate Heart is hosting a viewing party on Saturday for the wedding too.
