Honoring George Floyd: Processions, memorial services underway across Southland

LOS ANGELES - Multiple processions and memorial services to commemorate George Floyd were underway across Southland on Monday. The events come a day ahead of his planned six-hour funeral in his hometown of Houston.

Interfaith leaders, community members and victims of police brutality were amongst those set to attend, according to event organizers.

Thousands were expected to participate in Floyd’s memorial services that were scheduled to converge in downtown Los Angeles at the intersection of First Street and Broadway Boulevard at 12 p.m.
