Homeless woman jailed, suspected of scissor stabbing

A homeless woman was in jail Monday accused of attacking a man with a pair of scissors as he waited for a bus in Pasadena, authorities said.

The attack was reported about 9 a.m. Sunday on Lake Avenue near the Foothill (210) Freeway, Pasadena police said.

The woman spoke nonsense to the victim, telling him he was not her husband, police said. The 25-year-old Azusa man tried to ignore and avoid the woman.

Then the suspect threw some "D'' batteries at the victim, hitting him once in the back of the head, police said. Finally she stabbed him once on the left triceps as he got on the bus.

Police located the suspect and took her into custody. Brenda Marie Anderson, 59, was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and was in the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood in lieu of $80,000 bail, according to sheriff's inmate records.
