Heroes Among Us: Kids send hopeful messages to Redlands seniors

Staff at a senior living facility in Redlands received an overwhelming response after posting a call to action on social media to help lift the spirits of its isolated seniors.

Residents at Hamilton Home were thrilled to receive cards, letters, stuffed animals and more from kids.

The seniors have been unable to see their relatives due to safety concerns during the coronavirus outbreak. The community is also accustomed to outings and field trips, but all that came to a halt as the seniors have been living under quarantine.

With a lack of social interaction, the staff at Hamilton Home posted a call to action on social media and asked kids, also in quarantine, to send hopeful messages to residents.

The response was overwhelming and brought endless joy to its 16 residents.
