Gunfire at Palmdale strip mall sends 4 people to hospital

Four people were injured Monday in Palmdale when a reported fist fight escalated into gunfire, authorities said.

The incident was reported at about 2 p.m. Monday outside of Rio's Burger at East 25th and Olive Drive in Palmdale.

Deputies said they arrived to a chaotic scene at the corner.

Lt. Ken Wright said the fist-fighting escalated outside the burger restaurant when someone pulled a gun.

We're told people started running in different directions, and several hid for safety at a nearby Jiffy Lube when they heard the sounds.

A total of four people were injured, three from gunfire and one had blunt force trauma to the head from the fist-fight, officials said.

According to Wright, none of the injuries were life threatening and one of the injured is one of the two suspects in the case.

They are believed to be in their 20's. Wright added the gang unit is investigating.
