Gas prices rise again in L.A. County on Monday, highest average price per gallon since 2015

LOS ANGELES (FOX 11) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose one-tenth of a cent on Monday to $4.124, its sixth increase in seven days.

The average price has increased 4.6 cents over the past seven days, including six-tenths of a cent on Sunday, to its highest amount since July 30, 2015, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 46.9 cents more than one month ago and 46.1 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose four-tenths of a cent today to $4.097, its sixth increase in seven days. The Orange County average price has increased 4.9 cents over the past seven days, including two-tenths of a cent on Sunday, to its highest amount since July 30, 2015.

The Orange County average price is 49 cents more than one month ago and 47.2 cents higher than one year ago.

The higher prices are the result of a series of refinery issues that have reduced supply, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
