Fun & Spooky Halloween Events In and Around Los Angeles
It's that time of year again Halloween! Here are some of the top Halloween events in and around LA from haunted houses and hay rides to scary theme parks. Also,some family-friendly non-scary events.
1) Universal Studios Hollywood - Halloween Horror Nights
The zombies populate the studio backlot during October weekend nights The event includes walk-through mazes, roaming scare actors, nightmare-inducing rides, shows and attractions. This is the goriest event in town. Not recommended for children under 13.
2) Los Angeles Haunted Hayride 2015, "Boogeyman"
Introducing the ALL NEW Los Angeles Haunted Hayride experience, BOOGEYMAN. Traveling the world reveals the presence and un derlying unity in all cultures in their experience of fear. The notion of a dark presence being uncomfortably close or of a mythical evil entity that is inevitably always sitting and waiting for you to close your eyes and fall asleep so it can come out and "get you. Get on the darkest, scariest and most haunting experience to date, Los Angeles Haunted Hayride, Boogeyman including 5 scare zones.
3) Disney's Halloween Time
Attractions and shows at Disneyland that have a Halloween theme. This year's lineup once again is highlighted by trick-or-treating at Mickey's Halloween Party when guests may dress in Halloween costume and go trick-or-treating. The event includes candy stations, photo opportunities with Disney villain characters, admission to Disneyland park for three hours, parking and other Halloween party events. Guests at Disneyland park will be treated to Halloween-themed renovations of Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion.

4) Descanso Gardens: RISE of the Jack o'Lanterns
Descanso Gardens is hosting RISE of the Jack o' Lanterns from Oct. 1 to Nov. 1 in the Descanso Rose Garden. The RISE is a family-friendly Halloween-themed event which is produced and managed by its own production company. The 2015 installations include spectacular jack o'lantern installations, including automobiles crafted from jacks, dragons and more!
5) Knott's Scary Farm
Running for over 40 years, Knott's Scary Farm Halloween Haunt features mazes, shows, Halloween-themed "scare zones" and over 1000 monsters roaming around. Numerous transformations turn the entire park into a huge Halloween party. This event is better suited for ages 13+, however, during Knott's daytime operating hours Camp Snoopy is transformed into Camp Spooky for the kids.
