The firefighters were standing on the second story roof of the building when it appeared to give way, a videographer who saw the incident reported.
County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Kyle Sandford said one of the firefighters suffered moderate injuries and the other three were treated for minor injuries.
The three-alarm fire was continuing to burn three hours after it was first reported by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy around 11:35 p.m. Thursday. Around 110 firefighters were sent to the location in the 7600 block of South Atlantic Boulevard, Sandford said.
The building was the former Club Caribe Casino, which closed about five years ago.
