Firefighters discover body after putting out condominium fire in Rosemead

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly fire in Rosemead after firefighters discovered a body at a condominium Thursday evening.

Fire crews were called out to a home in the 8300 block of Rush Street after a fire was reported shortly before 5 p.m. They discovered the body of a person after putting out the fire.

A spokesperson with the Los Angeles Fire Department says the body was so badly burned, officials could not tell the gender or age. Numerous marijuana plants were discovered at the home as well, according to the fire department.

Homicide detectives are investigating this case as a suspicious death.
