Driver crashes into power pole, knocking out power to hundreds
ANAHEIM, - An early morning accident knocks out power to hundreds of customers after a car crashes into a power pole. The loud crash and a power outage jolted many Anaheim residents awake.
Resident Linda Maxwell said, "I heard a loud bomb and the power went out." Another neighbor Deborah clapper says, "I was scared. I told my kids to be calm."
A car crashed into a power pole at 2:40a this morning on the corner of Savanna St. and Knott Ave, in Anaheim, downing electrical lines and left part of the pole dangling from a cable. It knocked out power to several blocks ...
Which could lead to trying conditions given today's heat.
Susan Hernandez has a 3 year old and says "The fridge has been off since 2. I don't know what I'm gonna do about my little girl. We are going to go to grandmas No AC, her milk might go bad."
Police managed early morning traffic as utility crews work to repair the damage and restore power.
They don't expect that to happen until the early afternoon.
