Crews battling large junkyard fire in Pomona

POMONA, Calif. (FOX 11) - Firefighters are battling a large blaze that broke out at a junkyard at Master Recycling Inc. at 1980 S. Reservoir Street in Pomona.

Pomona police have temporarily closed Reservoir Street from Lexington Avenue to Philadelphia Street.

The fire broke out shortly before 3:30 p.m. Friday. Aerial footage from SkyFox shows crews dousing the flames with water as the fire continues to threaten a nearby structure within the property.

No injuries have been reported. No evacuations have been issued at this time. Police are asking the public to avoid the area.

Although the cause of the fire continues to be investigated, authorities believe the fire may have been started by a transient.
