Car wash using disinfecting fog as extra layer of sanitation to help keep customers, employees safe

Car washes are among the businesses permitted to reopen under certain health orders. One chain is adding a special service to help customers feel safe during the COVID-19 crisis.

Agoura Hills Hand Wash recently reopened its full-service car wash adding an extra layer of protection for both its employees and customers.

The service now includes disinfecting and cleaning the car interior with germicidal fog sanitizer before and after a vehicle is brought into the car wash.

"This way we can disinfect the car and keep everyone safe," said David Delrahim, the owner.

Delrahim said he believes this disinfecting fog will be "the new normal" even after the coronavirus pandemic is behind us.

"As we are walking in and out of the car we're taking a lot of contaminants into the car that get circulated inside the cabin, so this way we can really disinfect the car and keep everyone safe," he said.

Additionally, all car wash employees are equipped with masks and gloves for an extra layer of protection.
