IRVINE, Calif. (FOX 11) - The Irvine Police Department arrested a man for burglarizing an electronic repair business early Tuesday morning.
William Cortez was taken into custody on charges of commercial burglary and vandalism.
Officers responded to an electronic repair business on Sky Park Circle after getting a call of a burglary in progress. The store owner called police after seeing remote video that showed someone in the business.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter and a Newport Beach Police Department K9 responded to assist. The helicopter captured thermal imaging of the suspect in the building.
The suspect was told to exit the building and he refused for about two hours. The K9 was about to be sent in when the suspect surrendered with his hands in the air. He was arrested without incident.
