Brush fire in Burbank prompts closure of some city streets
BURBANK (FOX 11 / CNS) - A brush fire broke out on a hillside in Burbank Friday afternoon, prompting the closure of some residential streets and recreational areas while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, which were visible for miles.
The fire was reported around 1 p.m. at Sunset Canyon Drive and Harvard Road and flames were in the vicinity of homes, but no structural losses had been reported as of 2:20 p.m.
Roadways and recreation areas were closed above Sunset Canyon Drive, a portion of which was also closed, police said.
