Brush fire breaks out in the San Fernando Valley

Firefighters battled a blaze Tuesday afternoon that broke out in the Chatsworth area of the San Fernando Valley.

The fire scorched about an acre and a half before crews stopped its forward progress. At least one water-dropping helicopter assisted with the firefight.

The fire broke out in the area of De Soto Avenue and Browns Canyon Road.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
