ANAHEIM, Calif. (FOX 11/CNS) - Police investigated Tuesday the discovery of a body found in a bag in a dumpster behind a condominium complex in Anaheim.
Officers were called about 2:15 a.m. to 2156 S. Euclid Street and located the body, according to Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department.
The call came from someone who found the body while going through the dumpster looking for recyclables, police said.
"Obviously it's a very difficult situation,'' Wyatt said. "Detectives primarily will need to try to identify the victim. That will be our first step in trying to determine whether the crime even occurred here in our jurisdiction or if this is just a dumped body here in our jurisdiction. Identification of the victim will be key. We'll be going through missing persons reports. We'll also be canvassing the neighborhood, knocking on doors asking for any witnesses, canvassing for video surveillance.''
