Big rig goes over side of 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace, lanes closed

LAKE VIEW TERRACE, Calif. (FOX 11) - The driver of a big rig was trapped inside his vehicle after it went over the side of the eastbound 210 Freeway in Lake View Terrace Wednesday morning.

The crash prompted the closure of the Nos. 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the freeway until at least 5 a.m.

The crash occurred near the Osborne Street exit about 2:40 a.m. and damaged at least 60 feet of guardrail and a wall on the right side of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Paramedics and firefighters worked to free the trapped driver from the vehicle, the CHP said.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

The No. 3 lane of the eastbound 210 Freeway near the Osborne Street exit in Lake View Terrace remains closed following the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol. All other lanes of the freeway are open.
