Bear spotted in neighborhood near two Rancho Cucamonga Schools

Police in Rancho Cucamonga received a call Wednesday morning in reference to a bear that was sighted in a neighborhood near two schools.

Police got the call to the intersection of Hellman Avenue and Lemon Street just before 6:10am. They even got a sighting of the bear on police dash cam as they arrived on the scene and posted to Twitter.

Deputies have reportedly corralled the bear near a vineyard just ahead of the arrival of Department of Fish and Wildlife officers.

The bear was last reported up in a tree near the two Rancho Cucamonga schools. Vineyard Junior High and Highland Christian school have both locked down their campuses.

No injuries have been reported.
