Bath & Body Works is hiring 30,000 workers for holiday season

Bath & Body Works announced plans to hire more than 30,000 seasonal associates ahead of the holiday season.

The chain, known for its candles and body care, announced the news in a press release on Monday, stating that the hiring will be implemented to meet an "expected surge in holiday demand."

By the numbers:

Bath & Body Works said the company will hire more than 30,000 seasonal associates across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.

The company will hire part-time retail associates to support its nearly 1,900 North American stores, along with more than 2,000 full-time roles at its five Ohio-based distribution centers.

According to Bath & Body Works, the seasonal expansion is designed to ensure stores and logistics teams are fully staffed to support increased consumer demand and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The seasonal associates will receive access to benefits, including a 40% discount at its stores. The roles may also offer a pathway to long-term career growth.

Former Nike executive becomes CEO of Bath & Body Works

The backstory:

In May, the company said that Heaf, Nike’s former chief strategy and transformation officer, had taken over the CEO role at Bath & Body Works.

The change in leadership came as the company grappled with uncertain discretionary spending, which caused it to forecast annual sales and profit largely below expectations in February.
