Authorities investigating rash of burglaries across Orange County

Westminster Police Officers were dispatched to the Rite-Aid located at 6767 Westminster Blvd. for a burglary alarm activation. Upon arrival, officers found that the front sliding glass doors had been pried open and entry was made into the store. The ATM machine located inside the store had also been pried open and an unknown amount of cash was removed. The suspects fled from the location and were not captured.

A witness reported seeing 5 males running from the front of the store. The store was closed at the time and any surveillance video was not obtainable, and at this time the suspects are unknown.

"This does not appear to be an isolated incident and may be related to a burglary series targeting the ATM machines inside Rite-Aid stores. We will continue the investigation in hopes of identifying and arresting the suspects involved," said Sergeant Eddie Esqueda.

Westminster Police Detectives are currently working the case. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call the Westminster Police Department at 714-548-3212, or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIP-OCCS or online at www.occrimestoppers.org. Callers can remain anonymous.
