Active shooter drill held Saturday at Los Angeles City Hall

A multi-agency active shooter training drill was held Saturday in downtown Los Angeles.

The training, hosted by the Los Angeles Police Department, focused on active shooter response and went through a training scenario where an active shooter enters Los Angeles City Hall and opens fire.

Participating agencies included the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Protective Police, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles Fire Department and the Mayor's Crisis Response Team.

Saturday's training also focused on command and control of an evolving incident, authorities said.

The streets around Los Angeles City Hall, located at 200 North Spring Street, were temporarily closed for the training.
