9-year old boy accidentally pushed into traffic, killed

His name was Angel and he was only nine years old when he died Thursday, the victim of a freak accident.

It was just after 2 o'clock when Angel and his sister were walking down Royal Avenue in Simi Valley, heading home from Madera Elementary up the street.

Police say the kids were, well just being kids, horsing around and in play, pushing each other. Things turned tragic though when one shove caused Angel to fall down and tumble off the curb.

Witnesses say he didn't have time to get up and the car that was coming down the street didn't have time to stop.

The little boy, loved by so many, was hit head on. Right in front of his horrified sister and other children.

The driver immediately stopped to help, telling police she did her best not to hit the boy but there was nothing she could do. It happened so fast.

Police say she wasn't speeding either and had actually been driving slowly.

The 4th grader was rushed to the hospital but last night was taken off life support and died.

Angel leaves behind a large and loving family which includes his parents and two sisters, an 8-year-old and an 11-month-old.

Fundraisers to help the family are being planned and a GoFundMe account has been set up to help with funeral costs. CLICK HERE TO DONATE: https://www.gofundme.com/angelsfamilyfund
