Pursuit ends in deadly crash

Three people were killed and one person was hospitalized in critical condition after a vehicle crashed and rolled over in Echo Park.

LOS ANGELES - Three robbery suspects were killed and a fourth suspect was hospitalized after a pursuit ended in a rollover crash in Echo Park on Friday morning.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department witnessed an armed burglary around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Lemoyne Street and observed four suspects leave the scene. The suspects' vehicle was immediately pursued until officers lost sight of them.

A short time later, LAPD officers found the suspects' vehicle overturned on the Rampart Boulevard off-ramp on the northbound 101 Freeway.

Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department worked to extricate the trapped suspects. Three of the suspects were pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The fourth suspect was rushed to a hospital and was listed in critical condition.

All four suspects were in their 20s or 30s, according to the LAFD.

The Rampart Boulevard on- and off-ramps were closed until further notice, the California Highway Patrol said.
