22-year old shot and killed in Anaheim officer involved shooting

ANAHEIM, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - A 22-year-old man was fatally shot by an Anaheim police officer early this morning, police said.

The shooting in Sage Park at 1313 W. Lido Place took place about 12:40a.m., said Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt.

"The man who was shot was transported to a hospital where he later died,'' Wyatt said, adding he had no details on what led up to the shooting.

The victim's name was withheld pending family notification.

"The investigation is still ongoing and the District Attorney's office will be taking the lead in this investigation,'' Wyatt said early today.

Wyatt also said he didn't know if a weapon was recovered at the scene.

No other information was immediately available.
