TORRANCE, Calif. (FOX11) - An 18-year-old Bellflower man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at the Del Amo Fashion
Center in Torrance.
The shooting left one person injured. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later released, said Sgt. Ronald Harris of the Torrance Police Department.
The alleged gunman, Jose Salazar, was arrested around 1:15 a.m.Saturday by the Redondo Beach Police Department during a traffic stop.
Salazar allegedly provided police with a false name and was arrested for suspected sales of narcotics, Harris said.
"During the booking process, the suspect was positively identified and the charge of attempted murder was added,'' he said.
The shooting happened on June 3 a little before 3 p.m. when officers in Torrance responded to a report of shots fired at the Del Amo Fashion Center, where someone had been struck by gunfire and a lone suspect fled the scene.
