17-year-old hit by 'freeway debris' has died
(FOX 11) -
Ethan Hawks of La Habra was with his mom on the 57 freeway in Anaheim last Saturday when a piece of metal weighing about ten pounds fell out of a truck. It came through the windshield and struck him in the neck.
Hawks had been in a medically induced coma at UC Irvine Medical Center.
Hawks was a starter on the Whittier Christian Football Team.
He is the fourth student at that school to die in the last year and grief counselors will be meeting with students at the school on Monday.
