10 burglary arrests in Palisades Fire evacuation zone: SMPD
SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Ten burglary suspects have been arrested in Palisades Fire evacuation zones, the Santa Monica Police Department announced Sunday.
Police said none of the suspects live in Santa Monica. Six of them were in possession of burglary tools, and one pair even had the Watch Duty app open on their phones to try to track the evacuation zones.
According to police, they were able to stop these attempted burglaries before they were carried out.
One suspect, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Kaliel Love, tried to run away but was later arrested. He was caught in possession of a dagger, a window-breaking tool, a mask, gloves, and narcotics, police said.

Some of the other suspects were identified as 22-year-old Miguel Angel Dorantes, 18-year-old Dominic Pachecomanga, and 27-year-old Gabriel Isaih Stokes. G
Dorantes and Pachecomanga were arrested together after running a stop sign in the van they were traveling in.
Overall, police said 39 people have been arrested in evacuation zones since the start of the fire.
Those not charged with attempted burglary were arrested for curfew violations, drug possession warrants, and probation violations.
