Dr. Kate Scharer of the USGS discusses the heightened earthquake alert

San Bernardino City Hall closed Monday and Tuesday. It's because the city is operating with an 'abundance of caution' regarding the result of an elevated earthquake risk.

The city hall building was built in the early seventies, and therefore does not meet current seismic standards.

All of this , because of a recent swarm of earthquakes seismologists last week warned the possibility of a sizeable earthquake (4.3 or greater) is up.

We had Dr. Kate Scharer from the USGS in to Good Day LA to talk with Steve Edwards and Araksya Karapetyan to talk about the heightened awareness.
