Zombies take over Super Bowl LIII

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The zombies were celebrating before the Super Bowl in Atlanta Thursday. No, not Patriots fans, but zombies from AMC's The Walking Dead, which is filmed in the metro Atlanta area.

The special VIP party was thrown at a secret location in Atlanta exclusive to insider fans. Stars Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were on hand along with Grammy award-winning songwriter/producer Dallas Austin, and former NFL player DeAngelo Williams, former Bucs wide receiver DeSean Jackson, and Bears running back Tarik Cohen.

And of course, the dead themselves were in attendance.

The event celebrates the big game and the big The Walking Dead's season nine mid-season premiere on February 10. Producers call it one of the most ambitious seasons yet.

The Walking Dead is filmed primarily in the small town of Senoia, Georgia which is located about 30 miles south of Atlanta.
