Wenne Alton Davis, actress in ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,’ dies at 60 after being hit by car

Wenne Alton Davis, an actress who played a variety of television roles including in "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," died. She was 60 years old. 

Davis was hit and killed by a car in New York City on Monday while crossing the street at the intersection of West 53rd Street and Broadway, FOX News reported, citing authorities. 

The entertainer suffered severe trauma to her head and body as a result of the accident and was transported to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

According to FOX News, the driver of the vehicle, identified as a 61-year-old man, remained at the scene of the incident. So far, the driver has not been charged, and no arrest has been made and an investigation by the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad remains ongoing.

Wendy Davis was born on Oct. 18, 1965 in Durham, North Carolina and used the name Wenne Alton Davis in acting roles, the New York Times reported. 

Davis moved to New York in her late 20s and pursued stand-up comedy before transitioning to acting.

The actress played a police officer in an episode of the comedy series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" in 2023, and also appeared in "Girls5eva," "Blindspot," "New Amsterdam" and "The Normal Heart."
