Two-vehicle crash on 101 Freeway in Studio City leaves three injured, two critically

Firefighters worked to free three injured people after becoming trapped following a 2-car crash on the 101 Freeway near Lankershim Boulevard Tuesday night.

The crash was reported at about 10:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near Lankershim Boulevard. Firefighters worked to free three people trapped in one of the vehicles, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

All three rescued crash victims were taken to the hospital. Two of them are in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A SigAlert was issued until about midnight for the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the southbound Hollywood Freeway and No.1 northbound lane of the freeway at Lankershim Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
