The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help locating and identifying the driver behind a deadly hit-and-run that took the life of a young mother in East Los Angeles.

According to the CHP, Susana Ramirez, 29, was crossing Whittier Boulevard at Fraser Avenue in a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a mini-van. The crash happened around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. Officials said that the driver of the vehicle failed to stop or render aid to Ramirez, and fled the scene eastbound on Whittier Blvd.
